THE GOSPEL OF IMAGERY
Wild Chocolate is a photography studio founded by Ms. Oluwadamilola Oyewunmi Oyewo in 2018, based in Lagos, Nigeria. It's all too easy to be drawn in by the raw, unapologetic aesthetics of her images, and the cool blend of colors, lights and shadows, but perhaps, what's most distinct about her work, is how it reduces the dissimilarities between somewhat differentiated phenomena- Art, photography and africanness to ignorable nuances; successfully bridging the world of Canvases and clicks, and pouring into that world, a generous helping of dark, smooth, choco- skin. In our interview with her for A.R.T.'s FACES,( coming soon, don't forget to click on subscribe on the top right corner to get free notifications and access to our ARTicles.) she spoke of image-craft, her inspirations and ideals (as well as a romantic confession we didn't see coming!) and furthered the gospel of which we speak of: that photography is an art! But here, in Pixel Tour... let the images do the talking.
Each image is captioned beneath it, with the chosen words of our photographer (photographess?) to distill the essence and inspiration behind each click!
